The liza Colby Sound

The Liza Colby Sound has been shaking since 2009. Hailing from the Lower East Side of NYC, the 4-piece group is comprised of Liza Colby (vocals), Alec Morton (bass), and brothers Adam Roth (guitar) and Charly Roth (drums). A trio of tough players, Morton and the Roth brothers produce a sweet sound with enough bite to match Liza Colby's mega-watt voice. The result is a gritty, sexy, garage rock explosion that echos of '70s soul with a hard rock finish.

Putting out their first record High Yellow in 2011, The Liza Colby Sound has just released their Live EP available now on most digital music stores including iTunes and Amazon MP3.

The band has shared the stage with numerous music legends including David Johansen, The Scorpions, Daddy Long Legs, Patti Smith, and most recently Steve Earle. They have toured throughout the East Coast hitting spots such as PNC Bank Arts Center in Jersey, Church in Boston, and Jones Beach in Long Island. They appear regularly at the Mercury Lounge and Webster Hall in New York City. Infectious and intoxicating, The Liza Colby Sound is one to watch!

"The product of a sexual encounter between Aretha Franklin and Led Zeppelin. Works for us."- GQ Online

"A rock and soul hybrid, tight beyond belief, that meshes a '60s guitar sound with the powerhouse vocal presence and physicality of a lead singer who can channel prime-era Tina Turner and Janis Joplin while still rocking a style completely her own. A toe-tapping, head-nodding, foot-stomping, fist-pumping, ass-shaking good time is guaranteed." - This Week In New York

"She exploded on stage with the thunder of a hundred Harley's [and] her band is one of the cleanest and dirtiest assembly of fine fingers and ears on this dear Lower East Side." - The Passenger
